Curriculum Week - The Harmony Pledge

This week the children have been learning about the world of work and were set an enterprise challenge - to design and make a product to sell at our Spring Fayre to raise money for school resources.

We decided to become Gardeners and Florists and researched what each of these jobs were, and the tasks they would have to do on a day to day basis. The children asked lots of questions and found out about some of the tools gardeners use to keep green spaces tidy and healthy, and learnt that flower arrangements can be made with both real and artificial flowers.

We designed and made three different products for our Spring Fayre - Grow Your Own Kits, Cress Heads and Flower Pot Arrangements. The children were amazing and created some beautiful designs and then took time and care to translate their designs into a real products ready to sell.

They created a 'EYFS Flower Shop' sign ready for our stall and thought about how we could advertise our Spring Fayre, to make sure parents came to buy our products, so they made their own posters to put up by the door to the classroom.

They have all worked so hard this week and enjoyed making the different products to sell to help us raise money.
